CO2 Laser is a non-invasive and safe method for mole removal on the areas of face and body. Before the treatment, we will apply a local anesthetic to numb the area for 10 minutes. During the treatment, the laser rays are directed at the mole. The mole absorbs the rays and goes off until the surface becomes flat. The benefit of laser mole removal is the exclusion of any cutting and burning of the skin surface. During the procedure, you may feel a stinging feeling similar to injections. After the laser treatment, the mole area gets disinfected, and the nurse will apply a light dressing and waterproof plasters over the treated area.
The aftercare wound management is vital to prevent the appearance of scars. You should keep the treated area dry and change the plasters often. If the mole is too deep, you will be additionally prescribed a healing ointment. You should avoid direct exposure to UV-rays to prevent the appearance of scarring. It will take around 1-2 weeks for the area to get smooth and heal fully.
Although small-sized moles can be removed in one session, deep moles require several sessions because of the possibility of regrowth. You will be prescribed medicine to control inflammation and pain after the procedure.
