Non-surgical PDO Thread lift

Surgery Ria Posting update : 2021.01.27

Many people are interested in an increasingly popular Thread lift for skin rejuvenation. This is the minimally invasive procedure that serves as an alternative option for a conventional facelift. The most popular types of thread lift techniques are The Up and Cog thread lift.

They have not only the skin lifting function, but also activate collagen production. Here we will consider two types of Thread Lift: The Up and Cog lift.

At She’s Plastic Surgery, a Thread lift is used for the mid and lower face to elevate the cheeks, jowls, chin, and neck area. The threads we use are fully absorbable with time.

The Up thread lift
The Up thread lift consists of 3 thin PDO (polydioxanone) threads that look like a net. PDO serves as a very durable and flexible material used for lifting and skin tightening purposes. With time the threads dissolve completely but with the help of collagen production, the effect may last even after the full dissolving of the threads.

Cog Thread lift
Cog threads are the barbed PDO threads that hook into the soft tissue to support and lift sagging tissue. The PDO is a polydioxanone which is a safe biocompatible material. This treatment stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. The threads are placed with a special cannula.

A very small incision is made in the hairline above the ear. The threads are injected using the long blunt cannula. When the cannula is removed, the PDO threads are inserted into the treatment areas. The number of threads depends on the severity of the drooping and the number of areas treated.

The threads are pulled up in the right direction to create a lifting and tightening effect. Then the dissolvable stitches are placed on the temple areas.

The effect can last up to 1 year-1 year 6 months. The results from the treatment continue to improve even after the full absorption of the threads.
