Laser and Acne scars

Every one of us once at least has had difficult times fighting with acne. However, this fight goes on and on even after when the pimples no longer bother you.
The treatment starts to improve the scars on the face or other parts of the body left due to the acne scarring.
When one does not have any active acne, it is possible to turn to laser therapy to solve pigmentation or acne scarring problems.
Before getting any laser treatment whether it is a scar-removal laser or not, it is vital to discuss in advance with the dermatologist or the plastic surgeon.
How do acne scar lasers work? The mechanism of laser treatments is to remove the upper layer of the skin by heating the area covered with scars.
This will peel off the scar tissue. As a result, the skin looks smoother, and the scarring becomes far less visible.
One of the common lasers used to treat acne scarring is Spectra Peel or so-called Laser Carbon peel. This carbon laser is considered to be an ablative laser that removes the top layer of the skin.
There might be some redness of the treated area after the Carbon laser, but it will disappear within a day or two.
Another laser called Fraxel or fractional laser can also treat post-acne-related problems such as pigmentation.
It targets underneath the skin and stimulates new cell growth, and generates collagen production. When new cells develop, they replace the old ones on the scarred area.
What I want to suggest in the end is that you have a realistic expectation about the results of the laser treatments.
It is important not to forget that however expensive and powerful the laser is, it will not entirely remove acne scars but will make those scars appear far less noticeable.
