Should the stitches be removed only on a designated stitch-out day?
Most eyelid and nose surgeries involve incisions. It means that a doctor should place sutures to close an incision.
However, many customers ask if it is possible to remove stitches earlier than the designated stitch-out day.
It is a rule of our clinic to take stitches out under the designated period. Once the stitches are removed earlier than they must be, the surgery site might not heal fully.
As a result, it leads to inflammation and wound dehiscence, also known as wound separation.
Stitch-out time may vary from surgery to surgery. Usually, stitches from the eyelid, nose, and face wrinkle surgeries are taken on the 5th, 7th, and 14th day after the surgery.
Therefore, we recommend that you follow the stitch-out instruction and period.
