What is Mini-facelift?
Surgery| Editor Nick| Posting update : 2021.10.07
Mini-facelift is a simplified version of a facelift. As the name of the surgery “mini" says itself, the surgeon will make small incisions in the front and behind the ears.
The target area of the mini-facelift is the lower half of the face. As a result, the doctor tightens and lifts the sagging skin.
The surgery takes around from 2 to 3 hours. During the surgery, excess skin can also be removed and tightened.
Consequently, it will prevent the appearance of wrinkles. Patients usually undergo mini-facelift along with eyelid or brow lift surgeries.
After the procedure, it is normal to have some degree of swelling, bruising, and soreness on the surgery site. However, it will go down after several weeks.
The doctor prescribes some painkillers and antibiotics for 3~5 days. They will help reduce swelling and soreness.
The stitches will be out on the 9th or 10th day after the surgery. There are some activities that one must avoid for 2~3 weeks after the stitch removal. These are extreme work-out, hot bath, sauna, taking alcohol.
