Why can't you apply an ice pack after Fat grafting?

Fat grafting is effective in naturally giving volume to the face with your own fat tissue. However, patients are advised not to apply ice packs after fat grafting. Why is it so?
If you apply an ice pack after fat grafting, the engraftment rate of the transferred fat decreases due to the temperature change. Therefore we advise you not to use ice pack after fat grafting.
Pumpkin porridge or juice is helpful in reducing swelling after Fat grafting. This is because food containing pumpkin activates diuretic action and removes wastes.
The surgery site may look unnatural for about a week after Fat grafting due to swelling, but it will gradually subside over time. As time goes by, you don't have to worry about swelling.
