My top 5 New Year’s Resolutions
Time is so fast that we are about to say goodbye to the 2020 year after few days. Most of you may be already summing up your achievements during the 2020 year and setting new goals by anticipating luck and miracles. Whatever goal or plan you set, I hope that they will come true. Other than that, I would like to wish you an interesting and happy new year full of new and interesting people, meetings, places. Some days ago, I read an article that said that if we tell other people about our goals and plans, there is a high likelihood that we end up sticking to those goals and eventually accomplishing them. Therefore, I would like to my top 5 New Year’s Resolutions with you. If you find them interesting, you can leave comments. That will make me happy. Also, if any of you have similar goals or plans, you are always welcome to join me to realize them. Supporting and helping each other is very important in achieving your goals.
1. Healthy lifestyle. By this, I mean regular work-outs, eating balanced and healthy food, and trying to lead a stress-free lifestyle. It sounds like an ideal situation. And I am well aware that it will not work out to 100%. Despite this, trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle without any excuses is my main priority. If I cannot control the situation, I might back down and admit it. But if I try to look for excuses not to train or eat healthy food, I might punish myself as well.
2. Reading and writing. There are many interesting and educational books on the Internet, bookstores, and libraries, so I would like to spend more time reading them, analyzing and learning something new that will help me grow and develop myself. I am planning to read at least one book per month, in total, 12 books a year. After reading them, I do not want to finish the process here, but I want to write reviews and thoughts on the books I read.
3. Doing or learning something new. I have always been limiting myself, my abilities by convincing myself that I do not have a particular set of skills or talent. However, I realized that I was limiting abilities as well without attempting by doing this. When we try, we do not lose anything. Nobody is going to kill or punish us. People’s opinions do not matter. Thus, I would like to learn how to sing and dance in the 2021 year. I am claiming to be a professional singer or dance, I want to try and see what I can do in those areas. If it does not go the way I wanted, I can give up and move on to a new field.
4. Calling my parents often and saying that I love them and am grateful for everything they have done for me so far. Being always busy, I do not have time to call or leave a message to them. I am sure that they feel worried about me because of the pandemic thing, so I will try to find time every day to call or leave a message to my Mom and say that I love her very much.
5. Accepting my fears and doing something that I am most fearful of. We all have fear. We all feel discomfort when we must do something that we think we cannot do. For example, I have always been experiencing fear of talking to people first and maintain a conversation. Then this fear prevented me from giving presentations in front of the people. I have always avoided giving presentations because I tended to think that I was not good enough with the words and being on the stage. But in the 2021 year, whatever the result is, I will embrace my fears, work on getting rid of them. The important thing is not the final result, but my efforts and how well I can overcome that fear. Becoming a little braver and making bolder decisions is what I am striving for in the upcoming new year.
