Many patients are curious if they must stop taking the medications before plastic surgery. Is it necessary?

Depending on the type of medicine, the surgeon might ask you to stop taking your medication temporarily before the plastic surgery.

For example, if you take drugs or any other medications containing aspirin, you must stop it 1~2 weeks before the surgery.

The reason is that aspirin prevents blood coagulation and can lead to hemorrhage (bleeding).
