Possiblility of thread breaking after the thread lift

Surgery 김선희 2024.05.02

Thread lift is well known as an effective procedure for sagging cheeks, nasolabial folds, and jawline lifting. It is popular as it is not time consuming and there is no need for post-surgery treatment.

However, some people worry about whether the threads will break after the procedure or if it is okay to open their mouths wide.

Threads do NOT break after the procedure; however, depending on the type of thread used, the strength of the threads may significantly weaken after the procedure. The choice of thread greatly affects the outcome.

At She's Plastic Surgery, mesh-type threads are used, known as 'The Up thread lift'. Unlike traditional single-thread lifting, mesh-type threads pull tissues with a broader surface, resulting in a more natural lifting effect. Additionally, since it is a mesh-type thread made by combining three strands, it effectively pulls surrounding tissues as well.

However, some prcautions are necessary immediately after the procedure. It should be avoided to have harsh massages or rubbing the area roughly.
